We Love You Sandie

I have listened to the song that is playing again and again over the past week since Sandie went to the bridge so unexpectedly. I know the lyrics were intended for our human loved ones, yet to me they seem to apply to any loved one, furry or not. I have shed at least 1 million tears, and I can't yet bring myself to talk about it to anyone as I just fall apart. So this blog is my outlet, please bear with me . Thank you to those who have sent such kind words, they help more than you know.
"Homesick"
You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you
But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you
I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now
Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I'm still here so far away from home
I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now
In Christ, there are no goodbye
And in Christ, there is no end
So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
To see you again
And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

Heartbroken

Yesterday, I unexpectedly lost my bestest kittie friend in the whole world, Sandie. My heart is shattered and I type this through a constant stream of tears. Please remember him today. He was such a bright light in our lives who was loved more than he will ever know.

Still waiting for a forever home....

We have had Jethro (or as we like to call him, Jet) as our foster dog for 2 months now. He is handsome, loyal, funny & a very smart 65 pound lapdog :-). There isn't anything I would change about him, except for maybe the digging , but even that doesn't bother me. He is also a dog I would love to keep forever if we didn't have 2 already.

I can't help but wonder everytime I look at him, why he hasn't had one call from a potential adopter. Look at this face, isn't it sweet? I know that these things can take time and we want to find the perfect forever home; but everyday longer it takes, is one more day that I am falling head over heals in love with him!

All that wet, wet, wet day.....

If you are living anywhere in the southeast, you are probably feeling a little water logged like we are. My poor pups, are sick of me stopping them on a towel, everytime on their way in the house to wipe their paws. I can tell by the way they look at me, with that tilted head kind of look, you know the one right?

This weekend we were lucky enough to attend a soccer tournament in Alabama; the forecast 50's with rain, rain and more rain. I don't think it stopped raining from the time we got there on Fri afternoon, until we left mid-day Sunday. The fields were beautiful when we started the weekend, but with each passing game you could see this turning into the mudbowl! The coach had the girls roll around on the ground during warmups just to get the wetness over with. We slightly deranged parents threw on the ever attractive rain poncho's, threw up the umbrella's and did our best to cheer on the group of 12 year olds. These girls had more fun playing in the semi-cold rain with an extra 5 pounds of soaked soccer gear hanging from their lanky bodies and rolling around in the mud then I have ever seen them have in any other games. The sad part is we have no pictures, but if we did I think these two pictures would say it all:

(just a few) Words Wednesday

This picture of Lexi cracks me up! She is sticking out her tongue, but doesn't it look like she has big lips?

Francesco aka Puss

Francesco looks quite dashing in his Puss-n-Boots web costume! I know Sandie would match better, but Sandie has become somewhat of a "blog hog".
When I do things like this, I know it makes me look like I have way too much time on my hands!
