We're back online...

Glad to be back online. It seems like forever since our last post, but I was computerless for a week and it has taken me another week to get back on track. I never realized I was addicted to email & blogs until I didn't have a computer. I missed you all!
Jethro is still with us and what a doll! He snuggles & cuddles all the time, he is a 65 (not 55 as originally posted) pound lapdog. Jethro is happiest laying on the couch with the front half of his body in your lap. He absolutely loves being an indoor dog and is doing great. So great in fact I think that he must have been an indoor dog at one time in his life. He hasn't had an accident yet and he has been here 2 weeks today. We are in no rush to get rid of him, but we are hoping he will find a forever home soon where he will be pampered and spoiled for the rest of his life. He is so handsome and wonderful!
I need some feedback on whether or not you let your pets on the couch. I always encourage the dogs up, but wondering if I am doing a disservice to the dog as his potential owner may have a different set of rules. What do you think?

Last week KKs soccer team played in a futsal tournament (soccer on a gym floor). They played up 2 age levels and won the tournament. They are such a good team and so much fun to watch. Middle school basketball...... not so well, so we'll skip that.

C's new indoor soccer team finally won their first two games and we are grateful for that, but the games are killing me. Because she is highschool age they squeeze their games in at the end of the night. They are scheduled to start at 8:30 & 9:30 p.m. and then it is a half hour drive home! Don't they know I am in bed by 10??? jeezsh!

Brrrrr... it's so cold & we are so busy!

I haven't done a very good job of profiling the rest of my furbabies, but I will get started soon.
We (like the rest of the nation) are in the middle of a cold snap. They even canceled school today, not because of snow, but just because it is so cold they do not want children out at bus stops or walking to school. So, its a four day weekend with Monday being MLK day!

Today we pick up a new foster; Jethro, a 55 pound coonhound. He was dumped at the dump and rescued there by someone who was only able to foster him as an outside dog. With these single digit temps, they knew he needed to get warm and called CCR for help. He will be warm and snuggly with us as he awaits his forever home. Please keep all the homeless animals living out on the cold streets in your prayers.
Tonight, after a week of 5 soccer games & 3 basketball games, we will be hosting KK's middle school basketball team sleepover of ten 12/13 year old girls. Should be pretty easy as they are old enough to take care of themselves, I'll just show them the food and drinks and they are on their own.

Sweet Thing

Every day, I am going to profile one of my babies/furbabies. I know you can read a little about them in the column next to this, but each one is so unique I think they each deserve a little tribute.

This is my Sweet Thing. And she really is just that, a true sweet thing! She is shy with strangers, but loves the family or anyone who comes along with a brush in their hand. I think she waits all day for us to go to bed and then she is the first one sleeping aside me, head on the pillow. Every night since we got her that is her mission. She is also the mischief maker. She plays the shy act with us, but is the one who waits patiently around the corner, stalking the next feline passerby and then tackling them to the ground.
She is so sweet in fact, that even though she was here a full year before any other kittie, she let's everyone else eat first at feeding time. She is content to observe until they are done.

Dog Toy Massacre

While strolling through Target today, I came across these cute dog toys which were clearanced for 90% off because they were Christmas items. Both Wonder & Lexi love things that squeak, so I bought each of them one. I bought them knowing full well they wouldn't last long, but they would be fun for as long as they did last; which ended up being about 15 minutes. Our living room looked like a blizzard when they were done.

This is what they looked like first:

UGHHHHHHH!

Ok, it's been one of those days on the computer. No, more like one of those 3 weeks. I have taken a break to blog, as this is much less stressful than what I have been doing the past 3 hours. 3 hours that were a complete waste, as absolutely nothing was accomplished.
I have been striving to put together a Christmas Present for someone special. I can't say who or what because they may read this and then they will know. I will disclose details in the future if this computer survives. Now even though it is 10 days after Christmas, I still have not delivered all presents.
I am pretty much computer illiterate and the fact that I can actually put this whole blog together is a miracle in itself. I didn't know that any flash drive wouldn't connect to just any computer, or that USB cords came with all different ends in the same company. I didn't know a lot about computers until "the best easiest present in the world" happened. The problem is, I still don't. I know I have BIG PROBLEMS going on here, I just don't know how to fix any of them. So by evenings end tonight, this computer may just go flying out this second story window!!
They say petting your animals reduces blood pressure, so that is what I am going to do from now until I go to bed.
Sorry to vent on you all.

Furbaby baby pictures....

As a lot of our blog friends have done, we also wanted to post some pictures of our furbabies when they were babies. However, most of our pets were already grown when they became family members. So sad, but the only baby pictures we have are of Lexi, our pitbull, who was our first foster and Nike & Twizzler who we found in a box outside our church. So here are our sweet baby's pictures.
