These precious boxer mix puppies were on deaths door on Wed. night. One of the original 6 died on that night and the rest were to be euthanized on Thurs. morning, but our rescue found out and fought for them. The shelter didn't want to let them go, but finally relented. They had been at this horrific dirty shelter in very rural TN town for 4 weeks and had been fed Ol' Roy Adult food. They are severely underweight & fighting severe cases of coccidia.
They have now been to the vet and are on meds and a good puppy food to help them. Because cociddia is very contagious amongst puppies, they need to be quarantined from other dogs. We will be taking 2 of the puppies tonight for the next 2 weeks or so until they are healthy, fattened up & nuetered. Then they will be shipped to a rescue in NY state that has volunteered to take them in.

It just infuriates me that a "shelter" who is suppose to be helping the animals can be so cruel. Obviously, someone is just there for a paycheck and has no interest in the well being of these sweet animals.
The mayor of the town has been informed and hopefully there is going to be an investigation into this particular shelter.

This just makes me so sick. I had to read it twice that you said the puppies were in a shelter. It just breaks my heart that this could happen anywhere let alone in a so called "safe" place for animals. Thankfully they were rescued although it's very sad that one was lost and the remaining puppies are sick. My prayers are with these puppies that they become healthy and find their forever home so they can live the life they deserve.
Humans like that need to be 'neutered' themselves. Shame on them. Irritates me humans hurt innoncents like these puppies and other 4 legged creatures. Shame on them. They better be shut down--if not I'll come to Tennessee and bite them (I've had my shots!)
We will say our purr-prayers for these babies.

It makes my heart hurt to see those poor skinny puppies! At our local cats-only no-kill shelter, whenever we see that one of the kittens is seemingly too thin, we give them extra servings of canned food (A/D if needed), and weigh regularly to make sure they are back on track. Sometimes we syringe feed them. It's so gratifying to see them plump right up!
